Course Description

JavaScript is a programming language that allows the user to build interactive websites. JavaScript has become an essential web technology along with HTML and CSS, as most browsers implement it. Furthermore, JavaScript usage has now extended to mobile app development, desktop app development, and game development. All in all, it has exploded in popularity and is now a very useful skill to learn. In this course, students will create games using JavaScript. Having gotten used to the language syntax in JavaScript 1, students will now work on implementing this knowledge to create web games from the ground up.

  • Design simple video games from beginning to end
  • Learn how to create and alter variables in JavaScript
  • Learn how to use functions, conditional statements and loops to get a program to work as needed
  • Learn and use random functions
  • Use events and event handlers in JavaScript
  • Debug code systematically and logically
  • Learn how to properly organize code and document it
