Course Description:

Arduino is an open-source microprocessor that is widely used in prototyping robots and smart machines. It works by connecting the Arduino to simple electronic components via a breadboard, then uploading code unto the Arduino to control the components and make them behave in a specific way. In this course, students will learn the importance and uses of microprocessors, how to connect components such as LEDs, motors and ultrasonic sensors on a breadboard and how to control these components by uploading block-based code unto the Arduino.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the usefulness and uses of microprocessors
  • Become able to connect hardware on a breadboard
  • Calibrate sensors and use their inputs efficiently in code
  • Control actuators and make them work appropriately through code
  • Link the inputs of sensors to the outputs of the Arduino board
  • Develop critical thinking
  • Improve problem-solving skills
